When Sydney faces its most critical emergencies, the NSW Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit responds. Prime Projects built them the base to do it from.

Engaged by Landcom as part of the Green Square redevelopment, Prime Projects converted an existing warehouse at Zetland into the new headquarters for two specialist NSW Police units – the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit and Forensic Services – designed by Gardner Wetherill Architects to meet the exacting operational demands of frontline emergency response.

The transformation required partial demolition of the existing structure to create a new external yard with covered parking for the unit’s heavy specialist vehicle fleet. Internally, the warehouse was carefully divided – administration offices on one side, purpose-built workshops on the other, all fitted with entirely new services and finishes to support the maintenance of specialised equipment including vertical rescue apparatus, bomb disposal gear and rapid-response vehicles.

Every decision was made with operational precision in mind. This is a facility where the quality of the build directly underpins the capability of the people within it. Prime Projects delivered a headquarters worthy of the unit it serves – quietly functional, precisely built and ready for whatever the city demands.
