Some projects carry a weight beyond their construction value. This was one of them.

Prime Projects delivered the Ron Dyer Parish Centre at St Mary’s, North Sydney – a project that began with the careful demolition of the existing two-storey monastery and concluded with the handover of a modern, fully realised community facility to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney.

Designed by Mayoh Architects and completed in 2012, the two-level Parish Centre with full basement car park was conceived to serve the Parishes of Our Lady of the Way – bringing together parish administration offices, a versatile community and school hall, and an indoor-outdoor gathering space complete with BBQ and amenity facilities, all within a heritage precinct that demanded sensitivity at every turn.

The challenge was to build something entirely new while honouring everything already there – the history, the character and the quiet significance of a site that has anchored a community for generations.

Prime Projects met that challenge with care, craft, and the kind of construction quality that a place of faith and community deserves. The monastery made way. Something lasting took its place.
