Volkswagen Group Australia Parts Distribution Centre, Chullora
When Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) needed more space, there was no margin for error – and no room for downtime.
Prime Projects delivered a 7,000m² extension to VGA’s Parts Distribution Centre in Chullora, working closely with Charter Hall to expand what is now a 23,000m² national hub storing over 1.5 million parts – approximately 70% of Volkswagen Group Australia’s entire national volume across Volkswagen, ŠKODA, and Audi.
The numbers alone tell a story of scale: 1,595m³ of concrete, 125 tonnes of structural steel, 7,400 lineal metres of steel bracing, and 8,500m² of cladding – all delivered within a five-month construction programme, while the existing facility remained fully operational throughout.
Designed by Team 2 Architects, the extension was carefully sequenced to protect the daily rhythms of a distribution centre processing tens of thousands of parts every single day.
