Oral Health Building – Nepean Hospital, Kingswood
In a hospital environment, there is no margin for error – in the clinical work carried out within, or in the construction that makes it possible.
Prime Projects delivered the Oral Health Building Extension works at Nepean Hospital — an $8 million expansion and refurbishment that transformed a nine-chair dental facility into a contemporary, 32-chair centre of clinical excellence, designed by Brewster Hjorth Architects to meet the rapidly growing demand for public dental services across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
The scope was comprehensive. New construction and full refurbishment were delivered in parallel – encompassing a dedicated dental laboratory, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) with HEPA filtration and sterile ventilation systems, clinical training spaces for dental students, reception, staff facilities and meeting rooms. Custom polyurethane joinery, solid surface benchtops, and touchless sensor taps were specified throughout, meeting the exacting infection control standards of a modern clinical environment.
All of it delivered within a live hospital setting – where patients continued to be treated, and operational continuity was never negotiable.
Prime Projects navigated every complexity with the care, coordination and clinical sensitivity that healthcare construction demands – expanding capacity, elevating standards and leaving a facility that serves the community for decades to come.
