Active Steel Factory Expansion, St Marys

For Active Steel, this wasn’t just a new building – it was a platform for the next chapter of their business.

Prime Projects delivered a design and construct brownfield knockdown rebuild at St Marys – completed in just ten months within a live operational environment. Demolition was carried out safely alongside Active Steel’s continuing operations, with hazardous materials encountered and managed through licensed environmental protocols and site contamination remediated under expert geotechnical supervision.

The result: a purpose-built 3,300m² warehouse and a new 700m² two-level office facility, designed and engineered to perform. An 11-metre full-height precast boundary wall addresses the site’s constrained southern access. The warehouse structure was specifically designed to carry three gantry cranes – coordinated with international manufacturers to ensure structural, power, fire and spatial requirements aligned precisely with Active Steel’s needs. Parking facilities, full landscaping and boundary fencing complete a site delivered to the highest standard throughout.
