Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre, Ingleside
At Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre, the building doesn’t just support the mission – it embodies it.
Prime Projects delivered a two-storey, 1,200m² administration building for Kimbriki in Ingleside, designed by Axis Architects for a centre that processes up to 75% of all Northern Beaches waste – diverting approximately 80% of everything it receives away from landfill. The building was always going to need to reflect that purpose.
And it does. Recycled materials were woven throughout the construction and fitout, translating Kimbriki’s core values – rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle – directly into the fabric of the building itself. With recycled materials produced on-site, such as roadbase and aggregates from crushed concrete and brick, used for internal site works and landscaping, an 80-kilowatt rooftop solar array powers the building’s data centre, air conditioning and a fleet of electric vehicles, ensuring the facility operates as sustainably as the mission it serves.
Owned by Northern Beaches and Mosman Councils, Kimbriki is one of the region’s most important environmental assets. Prime Projects delivered a building worthy of that responsibility – considered in its design, conscious in its construction and built to last.
